An Interview with Jon Watson

What happened to wurk.net?

Does anyone know what’s happening at the wurk.net network?

Most blogs haven’t been updated in several weeks – blogging.wurk.net has been postless for two months beginning tomorrow…

Barry, are you alive over there?

b5media gets Artsy with Fame or Famine

b5media has launched Fame or Famine – covering the performing arts:

Written by Tracey Thompson, a great writer who also manages our Foodie Obsessed blog, Fame or Famine covers acting, bands, the life of a performer, profiles and reviews (just for a taste). This blog is one of the last About Weblogs babies being dusted off and revived to welcome a new set of readers.

This blog is a great overview of the performancing arts world for all of you who want to keep up with the industry in general, but don’t have the inclination to follow a particular actor or genre all on its own. From Kathy Griffin’s frustration with her comedy career, to the premiere of So You Think You Can Dance (which I did sorta watch), to who won at the Tony Awards, it’s an amusing and interesting read.

Gawker gets into Video with Gawker Clips

Gawker has launched Gawker Clips, inserting themselves into the videoworld:

At Gawker, we’ve been running video clips of all kinds—from original content, to TV highlights, to findings from video aggregation sites like YouTube—on all of our titles for a few months now. Today, we’re bringing all our video together in one place with the launch of Gawker Clips. The concept: all the latest video clips from all Gawker Media titles in one refreshingly context-free location. It’s video that’s too short to be boring.

Syntagma gets Jazzy

Syntagma has launched Jazz Groove:

Syntagma Media is very happy to announce another coup for the network as Steve Newman joins us as a blogger. Steve is the Commissioning Director at British publisher, Humdrumming, and has just begun posting on our newest blog: Jazz Groove. Regular aficionados may remember his spot over on Celebrity at Work.

I’m also delighted to announce that Steve’s personal blog is moving over to a berth at Syntagma and will be renamed: Diary of a Publisher.

Creative Weblogging launches Bootstrap Me

Creative Weblogging has launched a new site focused on bootstrapping your business:

This week we launched a new blog called Bootstrap Me. Bootstrap Me’s tagline is “How to bootstrap your business to fame and fortune.” The blog covers the subject of bootstrapping a business. According to Wikipedia, the term “bootstrapping” means starting a business with little or no external funding.

Bootstrap Me is edited by Shawn Hessinger, a blogger and experienced journalist based in Northeastern Pennsylvania, USA. Shawn will be writing about all aspects of starting and growing a business on a shoestring, including tips for bootstrappers, techniques for growing a business on a shoestring budget, and examples of boostrapped businesses.

Syntagma Media launches Home Cooking blog

Their announcement:

Syntagma Media is delighted to announce the launch of Home Cooking for Kids of All Ages. And if that’s a bit of a mouthful, so it should be. It’s a cooking blog, after all.

Deborah Woehr, a long time cook “with a houseful of men”, is our blogger on this assignment. Deborah also authors our Supernatural blog and is a co-founder of Writers Blog Alliance.

Home Cooking joins our Creme de la Femme Supplement under Adelle Tilton’s editorship.

Paul Short restructures Bloglogic into Gomaud Media

Paul Short’s Bloglogic is being restructued into a new entity – Gomaud Media:

mentioned some new developments over at Bloglogic yesterday and in the Big Changes post below. For me, these changes are huge.

I’m in the process of restructuring my company and sites. As of July 2/06, there will be no more Bloglogic Network. Instead, the blogs that fell under that brand + all my other sites will now be run by my new publishing company, Gomaud Media, which can be found at http://www.gomaud.com.

I’ve made these changes for a number of reasons…

Duct Tape Marketing launches 14 new Small Business Blogs

Duct Tape Marketing has launched 14 new Small Business Blogs:

Today the Duct Tape Marketing Blog Channel added 14 new blogs on specific small business topics bringing the total to 22. The collective brainpower coming from this blog network will make it the place to go for small business information.

Some of the blogs on the channel are authored by well known small business folks, some are written by people you may not be familiar with, but have much to say.

Shiny Media hits the rails with two new blogs

Shiny Media launches Kiss and Make Up – along with Startrip:

Other than an ill-advised Goth phase in the eighties I haven’t really spend too much time familiarising myself with make up. If I had morphed into Cambridgeshire’s answer to Marilyn Manson though I suspect I’d have a better take on Shiny’s latest blog Kiss and Make Up.

Shiny’s head fashion honcho Gemma tells me that Kiss and Makeup will solve all your beauty woes, give you the skinny on the latest offers and freebies, and guide you through the world of cosmetics in our usual slightly sarcastic way. Streaky fake tan and melting mascara will apparently be a thing of the past!

Shiny also recently launched a goss blog in Star Trip, but for some inexplicable reason it hasn’t been featured here yet.

Star Trip, an unashamedly trashy celeb gossip blog, bringing you all the goss on ‘slebs like Brangelina, TomKat, The Federlines, La Lohan, The Hiltons and the one-man powerhouse that is the Clooney. Never again will you need to spent £1.45 on Heat magazine or hide OK! underneath a stategically placed copy of The Guardian. Bookmark StarTrip.tv now and you’ll be the first to know when Pete Doherty falls off the wagon (again).
